Get your Orpheus up and running in minutes
Plug in the LiFePO4 battery using the XT60 connector. If you have a solar panel, connect it via the MC4 connectors, matching positive (+) to positive and negative (-) to negative.
Flip the power switch. The touchscreen will display the Orpheus interface after approximately 60 seconds. If nothing happens, press the manual wake button on the enclosure.
Attach speakers to the waterproof connectors on the enclosure. Test audio by switching to Manual Mode and playing the test tone.
Go to Settings → Astral Setup. Enter your GPS coordinates (latitude and longitude) and select your timezone. This is required for sunrise/sunset-based playback modes.
Check the clock displayed on screen. If the time is incorrect, go to Settings → Time & Date to set it manually. The built-in battery-backed clock will maintain time from this point forward.
Insert a USB flash drive containing your audio files (WAV or MP3). Open the Audio File Manager from the toolbar and import your files to the device.
Select your mode from the main menu:
For Interval, Astral, or Seasonal modes, set your desired playback times and assign audio files. Orpheus will handle the rest automatically.
To maximize battery life, enable Deep Sleep under Settings → Power Management. The device will automatically power down between scheduled events and wake up when needed.
Android: Download the APK from gaiaforge.tech/orpheus. When prompted, allow installation from unknown sources.
iOS: Coming soon to the App Store.
Open the app and it will automatically scan for nearby Orpheus devices. Tap your device to connect. The app uses Bluetooth Low Energy, so you need to be within approximately 10 meters.
After the BLE connection is established, join the Orpheus WiFi hotspot on your phone. The network name follows the format Orpheus-XXXX (e.g., Orpheus-91BD). No password required.
The app will connect to the full dashboard automatically. From here you can monitor battery status, configure playback, adjust settings, and more — all from your phone.
